Hello, I got my Sager np9130 from XoticPC in January and I've been loving it up until now. The screen turns green tinted when playing games and through deductions (and tilting my screen back and forth) I've found that there is an issue in the connection. However the screen used to flicker and become green tinted but now it is always green tinted. I have a 2nd monitor that is fine so I'm certain it is a connection issue and not an issue with the GPU. I attempted to fix it by opening the bezel and checking the connection but that has not worked.

With that said, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't panicking right now. I'm likely going to have to RMA to Sager via XoticPC. So, my questions are: Does anyone have experience with this issue/is there anything I can do to fix it on my own? If not I'll RMA the computer and I have a 2nd question: Does anyone have experience with an XoticPC/Sager RMA? I'm extremely nervous that something might go wrong/the problem won't be fixed, so does anyone have calming words/stories/advice?

Thanks in advance, sorry that I'm a bit panicked. I just don't know what to expect.

Sounds like a busted LVDS cable (Screen cable), not the worst RMA ever, as long as the screen turns a color its easy to reproduce and tell when its fixed. Because screens aren't wireless sometimes the cable gets messed up after lots of lid opening and closings, its not a terribly common problem, but sometimes it happens, normally just a cable swap and you're back in business.

Hey, I am here to say that I am having what seems like the exact same issue and need some advice. Should I attempt to disassemble the laptop and mess with the cable? I have noticed that the laptop seems to just do the grey/white flicker problem randomly and doesn't seem reproducible with wiggling the screen. The problem does stop when you wiggle the screen which is odd since you would think that it would come back when you do it some more. I am totally clueless on this one because I have tried adjusting settings and updating drivers to no avail. I am about to deploy and am seriously frustrated... what.. the f.

If you have a Sager computer you're welcome to do that without worry of voiding the warranty. If it fixes it it will be much easier then sending it in. If it was bought elsewhere check with them to get their OK before you open up the computer.

Yeah, the cable isn't to hard to get to (the end connected to the screen), so definitely try reseating it. That's usually the end that gets tugged on the most and consequently where the seating problem ends up. Hopefully it doesn't boil down to a RMA!
