I wanna ask about the screens.. The sellers don't have the details on their web.

Donald told me that 3k is a TN screen.(so that means all 3k screens that are offered for this laptop is the same, right?) I think I saw someone posted that the 4K is the only IPS screen, but I can work with FHD and save some money for external monitor.

I really need the color accuracy and not so much for refresh rate.

Btw since clevo just came out w/ p870zm. Should I be waiting for a p775zm or something like that? I still can wait for like another month or two. Thx!

4K panel is a very color accurate IPS. The 1440p 120Hz is way better for gaming and good for a TN but not nearly the same.

ZM is old, DM or maybe KM are the new ones.

    Thx Galm!

I meant KM. I wonder how long it would take for it to come out. Although I wasn't expecting a great change, I'm just hoping if it would drop the price for the DM version.

Btw, do you know what 1080p screen is? A TN or IPS?

1080p are all IPS as far as I know, at least for the European resellers I checked.

Yep, the 4K one is more color accurate though.

Kaby Lake is stable for sure too but you will need to undervolt the CPU and apply the thermal paste very carefully. I heard Kaby Lake runs a bit hotter overall. You definitely need to wait for a BIOS update that supports Kaby Lake in the P775DM3 though.

There's already a BIOS update for the P775DM3 with Kaby Lake. I'm using one with a Kaby Lake.

From what I can see the new BIOS is already set to under-volt by -100mV

But then you have to deal with Windows' horrendous scaling. Not a tradeoff I'd personally be willing to make.

Right. Anyone looking to upgrade, look into this first. I believe it's 1.06.xx for Kaby Lake CPUs.

Exactly, that's why I was constantly asking people what is the color accuracy on 1080p. Normally use is important too. And people have been dealing with 4K without the 4K screen for years and external monitor seems to make more sense when it comes to professional color grading.

Now I know 2/3 screens. Just missing the 1080p one

So... do you mean that I should wait for KM model to come out? Sounds like Kaby lake instead of being a lower power consumption chip it is a complete opposite product for what it is on mobile workstation

All I was saying was that if you intend to upgrade a Skylake system with a Kaby Lake CPU, then you'll need the BIOS update prior to doing so.

nope, a simple BIOS update and resetting the BIOS to defaults preferable via an NVRAM reset should do the trick

    Hi,
My question might a little bit weird, by the time people choose in between 120Hz either IPS or TN, gsync and non-gsync in Europe and US, i am wondering why there is no way to get P775MD3-G with any 120Hz panels in UK
