Guys I'm just wondering if there is any information about the screen quality on the new laptops? Can't find any detailed on those, e.g. brightness, contrast ratio? Asking cos M860TU's screen was only average amongst the CCFL backlit laptops; but with the higher end laptops using newer technology, e.g. RGB LED screens, does W860 compare well?
Need a computer atm, and W870 looks pretty decent; however hefty uni tuition fee probably means I'll just get one laptop in the next few years, so not sure W870 would be suitable. Most likely to just settle with a cheap desktop, until I could find a decent allround package. On the plus side I probably could get a Clevo with keypad backlight, USB 3 and next gen GPU then.

Unfortunately since this model has not released yet no one will know until the mass produced models come in and are reviewed.

Okay, thanks for the response Justin.
Probably need to wait until someone getting them. -
I'm also interested, although I think the W860 only has WLED screens while the W870 has RGB LED.
-
Be awesome if W870 has it.
But I cant seem to find anywhere, that could confirm the existance of RGB LED on it. -

To be honest with you I just pulled that one out of my *ss just to shut you up. so that you would stop asking redundant questions. My guess is just as good as the next person's right now. I'm not following the latest updates on the W860CU or W870CU as religiously as you guys so I'm the last person anybody should be asking regarding the new models. But I will be very much on the bandwagon when 32nm Westmere shows up. You can count me on that one.

My best guess right now is the same as Malignant's. Both the W860CU and W870CU will most likely ship with basic WLED panels. RGB LED is a battery hog and is much more expensive than WLED, so to anyone with common sense, it's obviously not going to happen with Clevo. WLED is still nice though. The color accuracy is still almost identical to conventional CCFL panels, though this is mainly because most notebook displays use TN panels. However, brightness and consistency will be improved so this is a modest step up from CCFL.

Lets see what happens then.
I hope WLED panel will be decent on the new laptop, but wont know until reviews come out... -
I think both notebooks are going to have WLED. RGB LED is expensive enough that they would have it plastered on all of their marketing material.

Yup.. awesome
Screen quality of W860CU or W870CU?
