hello i am wondering how the screen on the sager np8662 compares to the RGBLED screen on the studio xps 16, anyone know?
i am a bit worried about the screen brightness and picture quality on the sager if i do get this laptop
-
nothing compares to the xps' RGB screen, ur comparing the best of the range with a just above average screen
-
is the sager regular LED though?
-
Picture quality is fine, brightness is a tiny bit low. Screen quality is slightly above average compared to other laptops I have seen.
-
I don't think the 8662 screen is an LED.
That being said, I think the picture quality is very good and the brightness is good too. I have no complaints what so ever about the screen.
EDIT: The screen on mine is made by AU Optronics, if that helps.

Ya it's a little dimmer than usual, but if you get the wxga 1920X1200 the quality will be fantastic, as far as I know sager uses the same screens as does apple for the late 2008 series mac
-
Mine is very far from dim and I have never seen such a high quality screen and I have seen many screens... Perhaps the only exception is Apple but I believe this is on par

it is not a led. normal ccfl and imo they are a bit dim but nothing major. not nearly as dim as the matte screen was in the msi 620/1651 system those were VERY DIM. and as far as i can see there are 3 manufactures they are currently using for screens. so its a crap shoot to which you will get.
