I have been reading on a few sites that the drives do not work well in when in a raid 0 config. This seems to be due to the APM that is in the drives firmware.

I recently bought a NP8760 that are set up in a raid-0. I should be receiving my new lappy on monday. Has others had this problem with these drives?

Anyone? Perhaps they all work well. Could someone give me some ideas on how it works please.
-
afaik a few guys over in the hardware sections tried using the xt's in raid0.
iirc they got it to work but did not notice any performance benefits.
i was also thinking of going raid0 with 2xt's and a caddy on my 8690 but decided not to after reading their posts -
I have had no trouble with mine. I don't really see any sort of speed increase though.

Thanks very much for the imput. Segar is setting up the raid, so I would assume they know how to make it work correctly.

it will work, but but chances are there will be no performance increase vs a normal 7200 hdd
