My 5760 arrives tomorrow and it comes with a secondary HD modular bay for it. I just wanted to confirm/deny that it is a SATA 150 before I buy the HD. Is there anything in particular that I should consider? or will a Hitachi Travelstar 160gb 5400rpm HD fit/work perfectly?

Hey its me again. I received my secondary HD in the mail today and ran into a problem. It seems the computer recognizes the additional drive as I see it with device manager and also see a bubble pop up when windows start. However when I go into My Computer the secondary HD is no where to be found. I tried looking on hitachi's site for drivers thinking I am missing a file or something but only came across a utility which I cannot run as I lack an external floppy and a CD drive, when my secondary HD is in. I looked in the system CD for additional drivers but found none nor was the manual too helpful. It seems like something simple that I am doing wrong.

Going back and looking through materials maybe I got the wrong impression am I wrong to think that the secondary HD cannot be used as a plug and play HD? I am just looking for storage of my music and photograph files. I am used to an external where it is plug and play. What step(s) am I missing in installing the secondary HD in a 5760?

BTW: the laptop rocks and will be benchmarking it while I am work this week. Hopefully by Friday I will have a review written up for everyone.

You have to go to Computer Management to see your new (unformatted) drive. It does not get a letter until you format it and assign it one.

    1) Right-click on My Computer and choose Manage.
    2) Then when you are in Computer Management, choose Disk Management in the navigation on the left side.
    3) You should see your new harddrive which is unformatted.
    4) Format it (Quick format with NTFS) as primary drive (rather than Logical).
    5) Assign it a letter
    Thats it.

You should see it in your My Computer now.
