Anyone else having problems with this update ( here's a link)? Everytime I install it, my Realtek HD Manager (RTHDCPL.EXE) throws an error (see attachment) when Windows loads because it says that the html help control (HHCTRL.OCX) has moved in memory space. Then I have to recopy the html help control from my XPSP2 install disc in the recovery console, which of course, means that I'm prompted to install the security update again.

I've tried reinstalling my audio drivers, even different versions, but no matter what, I keep getting that error. The only fix I can identify is not installing the security update, not the most desirable resolution.

I'm going to try and see if I can manage a fix from that Knowledge Base article, and I'll let you guys know what I come up with in case anyone else has a similar issue.

Yeah i read about this problem on some other tech websites.

Why am i not surprised that a MS fix breaks something else?

At least they got a fix for the fix out quick.
