    Hi, everyone.

I will be buying a high-performance laptop within the next two months. Many of the vendors I have looked at were sourced from this forum and sell notebooks built from the 150EM and 170EM chassis models.

Many of the vendors have great websites with lots of galleries showing how these models look, but I'm still curious to see what they look like in person and get a sense of their size. and thickness.

Is there any relatively simple way to see one of these in person? Are any retail notebooks on display at Staples or Best Buy based on Clevo systems, or are there smaller chains that use them? I live outside at Philadelphia, so I have lots of options in terms of where I could go, but I'm not sure about where to begin looking.

    Thanks.

Nope, this is a botique brand which is built to order, so unless you can find a friend with one. The galleries is all that you have. Although if you want, go to the owner's threads and just ask for videos, pics, etc.

Maybe there are better options in a large city, but I've always found Best Buy, Staples, Officemax, etc to be worthless for laptop selection if you want something that costs more than $700. I've found issues at times even finding a laptop with dedicated graphics, let alone a GOOD laptop with dedicated graphics.

Not entirely accurate. If there is a builder in the OP's area, you can drive and look at their store front.

Last time I visited, one of the local resellers in my area had a showroom with Sager models sitting right in their displays along side the white boxes they also build / sell. Couldn't answer why they were reselling Sagers rather than building Clevos, but this was a couple of years ago.

im in the uk so im not 100% sure on american resellers but your best option would be to contact a reseller in your area if you have any and ask if it would be possible to view one of their lappys. these are normally done by appointment only if this option is available in america.

I was lucky enough that a friend of mine got an 8150 last year (which is what convinced me to get the 9150 this year).

Just to prepare you: the laptop is a bit smaller than everyone makes it out to be, and the power brick is the size of an actual brick. ;)

Both. These are surprisingly thin considering what it is packed with. Why can't you just read the dimensions of the laptop that is listed by every reseller and just use a ruler and see for yourself how large it is. It's not hard to do. Go to a shop and look at laptops with similar dimensions...

my friend has one, the 8150 (the model before the 9150, EXACTLY the same w/o backlit keyboard) and its very "clean" looking. MINIMALISTIC laptop. Nothing crazy going on, and as far as height and weight, in my opinion it is a VERY portable laptop. VERY portable. Comparing it to a 17 inch atleast. He has the 6990m in it...wow does it deliver..he was playing diablo 3, and by FAR his gameplay blows all the other macbook pros, imac, acer etc laptops ive seen in person. Ridiculously smooth, but one thing different is i think the 9150 comes with the "rubberized finish" on the exterior compared to when i touched the 8150 it felt more "plastic". Im in a dilemma right now myself, i thought i was set on the 9150 but i have a local seller with the samsung gamer 7 for about 1500 and i might just get that..supposedly the screen is just absolutely gorgeous.

I really could care less what size the brick is, it's the laptops actual size that I was concerned about, now all I need to know is how loud while gaming.
