Weird, I can't see the message, but anyway:

I have a recently bought P150HM from Malibal (less than 4 months)

    i7 2670 QM
    16GB DDR3 1333MHz
    HD6990M
    Intel 510 SSD 120GB
    750GB 7200rpm HDD
    Matte screen

I'm thinking about upgrading it into the P150EM, and get a 7970M later on
What is the best option, use a upgrade option like mythologic which I personally think it's rather expensive (even knowing that I will keep both the motherboard and the chassis, but I don't think I can make any money from that), or sell it and buy a new one with Ivy ?

Also, how much I could get from this, something around $1300 maybe?

Upgrade and save, definitely. Or just wait till the next generation comes out... would be a better investment overall! And it just wouldn't make sense... I'm sure octa cores are just around the corner for laptops... Not to mention newer GPUs... It'd probably be worth the wait. You've got a damn decent machine as it is! :)

Yeah, that's a pretty pimp laptop you have there. I can tell you that you will probably be disappointed (in terms of bang/buck) if you upgrade now to 7970M. It *is* better - but probably not worth the $1000+ you'll have to invest.

    That's a pimpy laptop for $1300! I'd be down.

Im playing Diablo 3 Starter Edition right now and Im as happy as ever.
Looks like Im gonna postpone my "upgrade" to the P170EM indefinetely.

Since Im playing only SC2 and Diablo 3, I'd better save the cash for next year...there will be nothing to gain from Ivy or 7970m in these games.
And my laptop is running in Boss-Mode, not a single problem since I got it 7 months ago.

So yeah........I am still anxcious to see how the GTX680m gets beaten by HD 7990m this year in gaming benches :D

psssst....maybe, just MAYBE...after the Ivy clock update (+200 mhz or more) and after 7990m comes out, I might get a P170EM. But right now - not worth it.

Yeah, I understand but I'm afraid there won't be newer Ivy and 7990M until the end of this year, and I have to get the better laptop I can this year because by the end of it I will be returning to my home country and it will be impossible to buy a new one and/or upgrade it (too freaking expensive, imagine paying around 4k dollars for this machine, plus 50% of taxes , damn).

So I'm thinking of upgrading as soon as I can so this machine won't get devalued and I could still sell it for around 1300~1600.

Is there any news about the 7970m working in our old HM's?
Eurocom took my order but they are completely silent about it, last time I checked in they told me they were doing internal testing, but it was around 4 of may.
I wonder if Mythologic or Malibal did make some tests?
For now we only know that the 675m works since its a rebadge, but with different hardware id.
The bios sees the gpu slot as "empty" but it works...I wonder if the same will happen with the 7970m?

wait until about 3 months out on your move home and then see what mythlogic can do for you. I know someone would pick off the parts that are left for at least some money so I think that it would be worth it.
