I've tried unsucsefully to sell my NP8170 for parts on Ebay. I was wondering if there was another place to sell it or baring that, if any of the re-sellers who haunt this board are interested in purchasing it. See this post here for more information on why I am selling it. But the quick and dirty of it is that the computer has a working screen and interior parts minus a GPU (the original fault), RAM, Hard Drives, and BluRay player. The basic system should work and should be flashed for a 7970M GPU.

It has an 2nd Generation Intel® Core™ i7-2670QM Processor ( 6MB L3 Cache, 2.20GHz) installed and a 17.3" Full HD LED-Backlit Display with Super Glossy Surface (1920 x 1080) screen. Wireless network card is still installed and it does come with a battery.

I'm open to suggestions on how/where to sell it. I'm also open to offers (assuming something like that doesn't violate forum rules/TOS. If they do, please ignore that part!)

may i ask why u werent successful on ebay? i sold my P150HM / Np8150 just a few months ago for parts and i totaled 1000€. that was with a defective mobo, defective 7970M and defective display cable :)

total parts were: 7970M defective / 7970M new / chassis with keyboard, mobo, optical drive, display/ new keyboard / HDD ODD bay adapter / 2960XM CPU / travel PSU 120W / modded Dell PSU 240W / 250 GB HDD / Intel 7260 Wifi Card

    some pointers for successful auctions:
    - always start with lowest possible start value (e.g. 1 €/$ etc.)
    - set auction length to maximum (e.g. 10 days)
    - plan it so that the auction ends on a sunday afternoon / early evening. at that time of day, most people have nothing better to do than browse ebay and bid on auctions ;)
    - set the auction to be offered worldwide, thus enlarging your potential buyer base
    - offer as many payment options as possible (especially paypal!)
    - make sure your shipping costs are fair

with these settings, ive always gotten my target price :) try it and see for urself!

Depending on how long you've been trying and how long you want to give it, you can set each part to buy it now, and good til canceled, and set to auto renew. You'll just have to make sure to check every now and they to make sure there are not a lot of others selling same parts cheaper.

If doing bidding jaybee83's advice is solid.

Thanks Jaybee! I'll re-post my computer tomorrow so that it will end on a Sunday. Is it okay to post a link to the auction here for people's info or is that not allowed?

Thanks! I think I'll try and sell everything as one thing first. I have no desire to drag out the process. But if I go the individual parts route I'll be sure to follow your advice!

I'm going to give this thread a short leash since you're not directly trying to sell here but please do not post any links, prices, or attempt to sell through private messages. We have a marketplace here on the site which is the only place selling is allowed but you do not meet the post requirement to be allowed to sell there.

Be aware that this is making you aware of the rules and that breaking them will incur an infraction. The rules are there to protect buyers and sellers alike and you can find them here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/thr...-regulations-must-read-before-posting.538704/

    Thank you for understanding.

Hey, no problem! That's why I was so cautious, I figured the forum might have rules. That being said. If one were to look on Ebay for a Sager/Clevo computer being sold for parts you might stumble upon mine. The auction ends Sunday evening for those interested.

[I think that stays within the rules, right? No links or prices!]
