I've got a NP4750/D470k laptop with a Radeon 9700 graphics card that I'm trying to upgrade the drivers on. I've loaded the latest BIOS that I know of (2.04) and I'm using the latest drivers from ATI (APR 18 2007). I've uninstalled all ATI drivers and used Driver Cleaner to make sure I removed everything then restarted the system. I've then loaded up the ATI CCC. Now the problem I get once I reboot from that is vertical lines across my screen however 3D support is active (I'll get to this in a sec). Sometimes I'll get the ole blue screen of death with the following error report:
ati2cqag.dll address BFA228F3 base at BFA1AA000, Datestamp 45f89d03
Sometimes I don't get the blue screen regardless when I restart the system from here I get no vertical lines however my 3D support is GONE. I try to run City of Heroes and all I get is a loading screen. I CAN load the game when I have the vertical lines though. I've tried using the Omega drivers with the same results.
This is really starting to frustrate me. Any ideas please....pretty please?

Hi, I'm sorry you received no response earlier. I'd suggest checking our Driver Update Guide to assist you in updating your drivers. http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=64910
