I had everything running great. For about an hour....

Then Boom shut down when I tried to run a 3dmark 11, it made me install a .NET 4 framework and I don't know if either 3dmark or .net or 7970m in general were the reason for the shut down.

I couldn't even boot up past the "starting windows" screen after that, I had to either boot in safe mode or system restore, because safe mode wouldn't let me remove the newly installed .net framework or 3dmar or 7970m drivers.

I've now restored/rebooted dozens of times and fully reinstalled windows 3 times, i was messing with this for 8 hours yesterday.

I tried 12.6, 12.7, .856, and .951 drivers for my 7970m and after installing each of them it either gives me a black screen or when I restart to finish its installation it won't let me get past the Windows Starting screen... I waited a good 10 minutes to make sure and it still wouldn't work, and normally it takes about 2 seconds; I'm running an SSD.

I feel this all can't be good on my brand new SSD -_-.

I can't find a way to get my computer to work; everything works fine until anything .NET framework related, or AMD Catalyst or 7970m related come up...

    What should I do?

Please help this sucks and is a new $2000 RIG.....

Tried both 64bit Pro Win7 and 64 bit Ultra Win 7.... Doesn't make a difference I still run into issues.

I also tried fully updating windows first, and that seemed to make it even worse -_-

im having similar problems. i think there has been a rogue windows update released which was what caused mine in the first place.
mine is a 4 year old clevo using nvidia though and i dont have an ssd.

after a new os install drivers have to be loaded in a certain order or it can cause problems.
did you get a driver disc with your lappy and if so you should load that before you do anything else after a new install.

micah i would just do a clean install as it is the only thing that solved my problems. even using driver sweeper didnt help :(. install everything except the 7970m drivers that came with your boot disc. download the 7970m drivers from clevos website and install them... Id just leave the drivers alone from there. Too many issues arise when installing the beta drivers. Im just waiting for the legit drivers at this point

I did a fresh install 3 times, and installed the drivers on my disk in order then did windows updates after on one. And on another did windows updates first then did the drivers, both didn't work.

    I dont know -_-

    Trying more things right now.

I can get into windows fine, running 64bit Ultra Win7 with SP1 now installed.

I can't install AMD drivers off of the disk or clevos site though; that causes windows to not get past the "Starting Windows" screen and results in my having to use a system restore....

I have a feeling it might be Intel HD drivers - i had black screen issues when I tried Intel HD drivers from the net rather than CD. It could also be windows updates installing an update to your Intel HD driver.
EDIT: does your windows work ok if you uninstall 7970m drivers altogether?

Yes windows works if I don't have 7970m drivers installed. It must be some kind of Enduro error?

    F***ng AMD drivers....

not sure, can you try re-installing one more time, installing only windows, then intel graphics drivers from clevo DVD, reboot, install AMD drivers from DVD. Do not install anything else, including windows updates. If the issue still persists I would guess there may be a hardware problem then, as you'd be running exact same drivers as clevo ships from the factory with.

Well it worked before for about an hour of gaming with good fps and heat was fine never broke 74c and I'm in a 76f room so that's not bad. Then I installed a. Net update and boom black screen. it really seems like a driver issue or it wouldn't have played bf3 on ultra perfectly fine no ?

who knows, theres a very slim possibility of your 7970m developing a hardware issue whilst testing. its not very likelly, but by removing any other software factors you can make sure that its not a hardware issue.

I hope its not a hardware issue. Now I've reinstalled windows and all of the updates for SP1 Etc. and downloaded all of the drivers EXCEPT for the AMD/intel 4000 ones which keep causing problems for me such as BSODS and major bootup issues that wont allow windows to start.

I'm downloading diablo 3 and BF3 and then I'm making a back up img of this drive onto my external 750GB.

Hopefully tonight or tomorrow I can find some way that will allow tthe stock drivers/other drivers to work correctly while running 3dmark/furmark BF3 etc.

I really don't enjoy BSODS or having to reinstall windows + all of my games etc.

At least now I'll have an img of a stable set up BEFORE the drivers can do damage.

Everything works FLAWLESSLY before I install those drivers. Keyboard lighting is awesome, CPU and RAM and SSD is fast as heck.

Just really want my 7970m to work as it was about 1/3 the cost of my machine ---
