OK let me start by saying I am not the most technically savvy gamer. I am going with the 9850 but would like a little feedback on the cost / value benefit on the set up. I am basically looking for a gaming laptop so performance is my only consideration but at the same time I don't want to spend just to spend.

    Feedback on a couple choices:

    1) Processor - QX9300, Q9000 or T9900
    2) Hard Drive - 7200RPM or SSD / RAID 0 or not
    3) External Graphics Card
    4) X-Fi Sound Card
    5) Any other configuration recommendations

Thanks in advance for the feedback

    1) get either the QX9300, X9100 or T9700 -- the performance:cost ratio on the T9900 is rubbish
    2) SSD is faster but only worth it in the larger drives ie :128gb +
    3) why bother if you have 2x280's any external card will perform worse then those due to the limitations of the bandwitdh of the cable connecting them
    4) Alexrose is the best person to ask on this one he is a sound buff
    5) 4gb ram minimum/maximum nothing more is required for gaming so dont waste cash on 8gb
