Ok so I have had my np9130 for just under a month now and looking to use the xotic PC 30 day return because I have some issues with the np9130 that I just can't seem to get over.
The keyboard has been driving me insane!!!! I am missing key strokes and key combinations on this new chicklet keyboard. I just saw a review that showed the np9150 keyboard and the spacing seems so much closer and the keys slightly larger. The Fn + fx keys are in crappy locations too, but this seems to the be the trend on most all brands now instead of having the brightness on the arrow keys and independent volume functions keys. The speed and performance I do love and otherwise there isn't anything else wrong with the laptop.
Has anyone used this return policy before? Does it make sense to do the exchange/return? and do you lose anything other then just the shipping costs? Can you wait till you get your new laptop before sending in the old one? Has anyone used the two keyboards and can comment on their differences?
I am also considering returning the np9130 for an alienware m14x, the new envy 15, the new xps 15 or MSI GE60 0ND-042US, but they all seem to be lagging behind int he GPU department. If anyone of them had the equivalent to the 670m or atleast close to its performance, I might grab one of those. I got the sager because it had the fingerprint scanner, the gaming performance, the cost, and its upgradeablilty.
The specs of the two laptops are as follows.

I have my own SSD and OS to install. I might just get the 670m on the sager and buy the 7970 later as well.
So what are people's thoughts on doing this? Is the keyboard on the np9150 going to be easier and more comfortable to use?
-
Anyone have thoughts in this? Are the keyboards and layout different?
-
Well, being a gamer, I'd do the upgrade just as a means to receiving the 7970M. The backlit keyboard is just a bonus.
-
Going to second the 9150. The 9130 is already almost maxed out on upgrades and the spacing does help a bit with typing. Not to mention the utter pounding that the enthusiast AMD card will give the mainstream nvidia card

I liked the plastic finish of the np9130 actually. I ended up doing the RMA at the very end if the 30 day window.
I'll be able to compare the 9130 to the 9150 since I'll end up having both. I went with the 670 if I really need an upgrade later I'll do it but the 670 will last me a couple of years since this will be my first top of the line gaming laptop I've owned and is a major improvement to the m1530 I used for years.
If the np9150 doesn't work for me I'll send it back and if I like the new XPS I'll grab that or a GE 60, an envy 15 or maybe the Samsung 15" gaming variant.
Time will tell. -

Does it attract it of dust and dirt/grime? I had metal an plastic finishes this will be the first rubber one.
Are Alienware or any other laptops rubberized? -
Alienware has the "soft touch" stuff on them, I believe it is a rubberized type finish.
Asus is another one that uses the rubberized finish on the G-series laptops. they got away from an ALL rubberized coating on the G55 and G75 though. The area around the keyboard and above the keyboard are now aluminum finish, but the palmrest and the rest of the top side of the laptop are still rubberized. -
My old thinkpad had a rubber finish on the lid, too. I don't know if lenovo still does that, though.
Should I return my np9130 and exchange it for an np9150?
