ok i was selling my gateway DX-4200 (desktop, i got as a gift). i got a response asking for a trade. My DX-4200 (with 17" LCD & keyboard) for a sager np2090 (ram has been upgraded to 4gb and hd was a 64gb ssd or a 500gb hd, but no battery. i did ask for some side $$ to compensate) so i wanted to know if it would be worth it? what can they add to make fair trade value?

I don't know the value of the systems, but make sure you test the 8600M GT before you trade, those have a high failure rate.

I would test with furmark, atitool can also be good when scanning for artifacts (works with nvidia too).

If you google "8600m faulty" you will find a lot of info.

prime tests only the cpu. You need a program to test the video vram and maybe 3DMark06 to make a 10-20 hours long stress test.
