Hi,
I just purchased a Sager NP8268-S, and one of the first things I did to it was to install a 95% gamut screen. When I look at the driver for the screen, it is current on "generic pnp"-- or something to that effect. If however I go to update the driver, the computer identifies the screen as a "Lenovo" screen. Should I update the driver even though it is a Lenovo screen driver, or just leave it on generic?
Thanks!

I've never heard of a driver for a screen. Really odd

If it looks good I would just leave it. I can't think of any reason to install other drivers.

Actually , windows update provided me a driver update for my screen, so it's not that odd ^^ , you can eventually search on the manufaturer's website
Hwinfo64 can provide you the full name of your screen

I'd have to agree with Hutsady, if it looks good definitely leave it as the windows update version may screw your colour profile, especially with the 95% gamut rated ones.

Actually my screen appared me more accurate in colors after driver update ( and it's a 95% gamut), the color were less vibrant ( still vibrant, but compared to the standart setup, wich was way over saturated, it's an improvment), it's way more "natural".

maybe that "driver" included a color calibration profile instead of an actual driver
most important is to keep the gpu driver up to date

If you can calibrate the screen that will help too. Something like the Spyder calibrators are nice.

Thanks for the helpful replies! I went ahead and installed the "Lenovo" driver, and to be honest, I couldn't discern any difference. I rolled it back to "Generic" and just did a quick color calibration, and all seems good!
Should I update the driver for my newly installed screen? (Sager)
