Hiro - I'm playing Skyrim (with a ton of mods), and I'm experiencing pretty significant microstuttering, and I am unable to figure out what the problem is. Microstuttering seems to occur even without mods installed. I've heard that you can fix this by enabling triple buffering using Rivatuner's D3DOverrider, but I can't get Rivatuner to recognize my 7970M; it only recognizes the Intel HD 4000.

    Anyone have experience with this?

    Thanks!

Do you have this on various driver versions? As for Riva, it may be an innocent bystander of Enduro; do you have something utilizing the GPU when you run Riva?

Skyrim is known to microstutter depending on which driver you are using. I'm pretty certain it has been fixed in a recent release but I could be wrong.

    Hey,

I've had constant problems with Skyrim microstuttering on my 7970m too. 13.8 seems to have reduced this problem somewhat, but I had figured out a sort of fix which solves the problem at least in indoor spaces and in most outdoor cases. You have to have MSI Afterburner running. On the system tray there is an "MSI On-screen display server" while Afterburner is running. Click on it to bring up the interface and add "TESV.exe" to the list of applications. Select it and click on the Wrench to change the application's settings. Set max fps to 59 and see if it makes any difference for you. That workaround has fixed most of my microstuttering issues in the game. It also seems to work for most games with similar issues on my system.

Edit: This might only work if you've enabled the Afterburner on-screen display. I'm not 100% sure, but try enabling that if you can't find it.

Check for any overheating, or maybe its simply the case ur running out of VRAM just like me with my 6990m 2GB, cuz my Skyrim is heavly modded with high-res textures

Incidentally, I was playing skyrim yesterday. It seemed to run smooth enough for me. I did not notice any stuttering whatsoever. I am running the 13.6 beta 2 drivers.

However, I must add that I have vanilla skyrim on max settings. No mods whatsoever. Try to uninstall all your ati drivers and perform a clean installation of the 13.6beta2(or the new 13.8?) drivers from AMD's website.

If that fails, try to check if there is any mod(the high def unofficial textures maybe?) that is the root of the problem.
