    While watching the latest OwnorDisown:

Steven mentioned (around the 8:26 mark) that he had been informed that Eurocom would be launching the 9900K in the Sky line around October 2018. I found another article from Tom's hardware saying pretty much the same:

    https://www.tomshardware.com/news/eurocom-core-intel-i9-9900k-cpu,37686.html

What also is interesting is the following statement from that article -

"The Sky C line of laptops will also incorporate a second-generation Mobile PCI Express Module (MXM 3) that will allow users to easily swap out the graphics card for one of their choice. Here's where things get very interesting. Eurocom's newsletter detailing the upcoming laptops makes reference to supporting next-generation graphics cards, such as the GTX 1180, GTX 1170, RTX 1080 and RTX 1070."

I say keep bringing on the rumors. I like what I'm hearing even if they turn out to be duds. A guy's got to find something to look forward to besides shooting aliens...Might need to re-think that.

That's really interesting, and was expected as well, let's wait and see, October is so soon.

It's all speculation and marketing at the moment from all sources (to be clear, I am not picking on Eurocom in any way, there is a lot of press around at the moment which isn't actually linking to sources). Next gen MXM GPUs don't physically exist yet.

Of yourse, there will be next gen MXM GPUs available from everyone, at the same time, upgrade options are up to the MXM design that the ODM uses (as it's their decision), not the resellers or SIs. If the form factor remains the same and isn't another 9 series to 10 series problem (physical size, different power connection issues) then upgradability will be possible across the market :)

If the new MXM GPUs don't exist yet, an October 'launch' just means announcing the new line, I suppose?

Like @XMG mentioned, it’s all source-less (or not coming forward) rumors at this point. We’’ have to wait and see. But, that would certainly drive the defining wedge between the LGA and BGA notebooks if we had the flexibility to pick/choose/plug & play GPU cards as easily as popping in a wireless carrier’s SIM card.

Still, you would hope a reseller would not add fuel to the fire and smoke but oh well.

To expand more on this, the video (gorilla marketing) suggests information about Intel i9 support in October, nothing else.
