    Hey there,
I am looking for a new notebook that should be:
    - 15.6" + Slim
    - i7-8750H CPU
    - 1050/1060/1070 Nvidia GPU
    - A decent battery (70+ WH)
    ....16GB RAM, SSD,...

    Current choices are:
    - Dell XPS 9570
    - Schenker XMG Neo 15 (not Clevo based, only 56wh battery)
    - MSI GS65
    - Aero 15x V8 but too expensive and too loud

I have seen Clevos with similiar specs but they are either in a too big/fat case or with a too small battery. Are there any Clevos that fit my search?

    Thanks!

The Aero 15X is the only one that doesn't throttle, is slim and has good battery runtimes. A big battery is meaningless if the power management on a firmware level is poor. Just look at some of MSI's laptops - the battery capacity is solid but they barely last for 3 hours.

Hmm thats bad because reviews/reports of the new Aero 15X arent very positive. Also its about 600$ more expensive than the rest.

Well, laws of physics are sadly still a thing. You can't have small, powerful, cool, quiet and with a massive battery all in one.

Our slim machines manage about 4-5 hours battery life.

Like @don_svetlio said, either Aero 15X. I don't think there's a better option for a thin'n'light out there at the moment.

In my opinion the Dell XPS 9570 and the MSI GS65 sound both better than the Aero 15X when looking at the negative reviews and the price of the Aero 15X.

My current favourite is the XMG Neo 15 with the 64WH Battery option. But its not released yet, so no reviews.

    Which machines are those? :)

I've gotten 6.25 hours on my PowerSpec 1710 (PA70HS-G) in MSHYBRID mode doing browsing and Office-type work.

Have you considered the P955EP6, P950ER and P955ER from Clevo? They have a 55 Wh battery but could end up with more battery runtime than other notebooks with higher capacity but less efficient use of it...

So far the only 90+whr machines are the Aero 15X and Aorus x5v8. The new GS65 also has a much larger battery now which is nice (84Whr from memory?), but I haven't seen the NBC review for it yet.

From what I can tell, the Aero15X also reviews quite well. In reality, it's no louder than any other thin laptop and you'd be crazy to expect any different from a thin laptop. Thinner fans means higher frequency noise which increases the perceived loudness of any machine. It's physically not possible to make them quieter without simply generating less heat (which in turn requires using less energy).

As far as cost is concerned, there's always the Aero15W (not-X) which is basically the same but only the 1060. So there should be a bit less noise/heat under load.

Personally, the P95X series is a disappointment for me. The battery is one of the smallest of all the competition, no MUX, no thunderbolt, no Sabre DAC, only 1x M.2 slot and it's bigger than the A15X. To add insult to injury, a P950ER costs $200 more for a similar spec to the Aero15X where I am. You'd have to be out of your mind to buy one.

I really like Clevo. I've been using them for over 10 years now but the current range is positively boring. I honestly can't believe they left out so many key features in the P950 series which is obviously the BIG competition point right now.
