i recently bought a super slim 90w universal power supply, and it only charges the battery when my p150hm is in sleep mode, as soon as i power it on, the charger turns on and off. obviously my laptop is pulling too much current, but seriously how can my laptop pull more than 90 watts by doing nothing gpu or cpu intensive. i wonder if it just always pulls around 120w reguardless of whether im gaming or not. anyways if anyone has found a cheap slim psu for the p150hm i would really like to know.

that cant be right... ive been using a wattmeter ever since i got my p150hm and with my current config it pulls max. 75W when i keep my cpu@800mhz and my gpu@idle clocks (set through amd overdrive in ccc) and run prime95/kombustor at the same time.
without load it idles around 25-40W

The option I am going for is taking a dell 240W slim adaptor, taking it apart and putting in a cable with the correct tip for my machine.

It's about the only option for a slim, higher rated brick.

Coolermaster do make a 120W universal slim brick if you only need that much power.

Well i started working part time at radioshack and the powersupply i bought was a slim enercell(a radioshack brand) 90w psu, so i returned it and got the slightly larger digital energy one for about 30 bucks after my discount, and it works great, even runs bf3 overclocked and doesnt even get hot.

I'm actually considering buying one for the cable and turning the slim alienware brick into a universal adapter ^-^

thats a good idea, any universal adapter that has interchangeable tips will work. in the manual for the one i got it says if it doesnt come with the tip you want that they will mail one to you for free.
