Has anyone else had trouble with Sager taking a reaaaaaaaaally long time with RMAs? I sent my laptop off to get the beeping issue that I'd been having fixed. I was told it would take 3 days for them to get the laptop, 2-4 business days to fix it, and 3 days to get it back to me. I sent the laptop off on the 17th, they got it on the 22nd, and they still have it. I checked with Xotic and they got in touch with Sager Friday, and they said they were still fixing it.

So now it's been a full week since they got it, they've had it 6 business days, and if I even want to get my laptop back by the end of the week it's going to have to be shipped back tomorrow (three day shipping would get it here Friday if it's shipped tomorrow). Otherwise it'll be next Monday before I get it back, at the earliest.

Am I just being impatient, or is Sager's customer service and RMA turnaround really that bad? I might be used to Dell's in-home service, but even when I had to send my old laptop in to them I got it back within a week. I'm going on two weeks on this Sager, and soon I'll be working on three. If it wasn't for me getting in touch with Xotic and getting them to check on it, I wouldn't have even gotten an update on the status of the repair.

It almost makes me regret the purchase, even though I love the laptop itself, and I've had good service with Xotic.

    I think so too.

Patience. 1 week is hardly a wait.

At least you didn't send it to PCMW, so you can have at least a little more confidence that you'll actually get your computer back. ;)

Don't really know about RMA, but i've been waiting on Sager Techsupport to email me the latest BIOS revision for 3 days now. Didn't think it would take that long. I've experienced nothing but outstanding performance from Sager's customer service and sales departments in the past so I don't know what the hold up is on this BIOS update.

Good luck with your RMA though m8, maybe they'll give it a nice thorough cleaning while their at it.

I think the part that really gets me is that from the day that the laptop finally died, as of today I've officially been without the laptop longer than I actually had it and was able to use it. Got the laptop on 5/28, it died on 6/13, got up with Xotic that night, didn't get the RMA information until 6/16, sent it off 6/17, and haven't seen it since. So that might explain my impatience a little bit.

Hopefully it was just a dud though, and they'll fix it and it'll run just fine for a few years after this. :)

I just reaaaally hope that they ship it back today, otherwise it'll be another week until I get it back, since the weekend will delay it if it's shipped Wednesday or later. Right after I was finally getting used to the beast of a new laptop, I got kicked back on the old, dying warhorse. =p

Remember to not count the weekends... they're not "business days" and some people don't work at all in weekends. So that explains your RMA being available 6/16 and... etc. I see you getting this in July with counting days... anyway.

My RMA went through pretty quickly. Had the RMA info within 24 hours from XoticPC (just like they promised). Shipped out 06/18, arrived at Sager 06/23. Was shipped back on 06/25 and is out for delivery on the UPS truck as we speak, to arrive today.

I had an issue with the HDD being sporadically seen/not seen by BIOS on power-on. About 30% of the time it would fail to see the drive. XoticPC relayed that they had replaced the motherboard. Hopefully I'll be getting my laptop here momentarily and that I'll no longer have the issue.

Mine was for beeping that ultimately led to powering down on its own within minutes pretty much every time I turned it on. And the piece of plastic that holds the headphone jack into place randomly fell out. So I guess mine was a more involved repair than yours, although replacing the motherboard would be a pretty involved repair, I'd think.

Still...they got yours the day after they got mine, replaced the motherboard, and you're getting yours back today. Yet I still haven't received any word that they're shipping mine back.

I made it easier (harder?) on myself though. XoticPC noted to wait until Sager had my laptop for 3-4 days before inquiring about a status update. They got it on a Tuesday, I emailed XoticPC for an update late afternoon the following Monday. That's when I pleasantly found out Sager had already shipped it out on the proceeding Thursday. Got word that it arrived an hour or so ago so we'll see! Still at work here for an hour more.

I did that too. I waited four days before I got up with XoticPC on Thursday night. Friday morning they contacted Sager about a status update, and they said they were still working on it. They also said I'd receive an email with information and a tracking number once they'd shipped it back.

From what it sounds like though, you never got an email?
Maybe it'd be worth my while to get in touch with them again tonight or tomorrow. Might get pleasantly surprised.

Nope I never got an email. Only reason I knew it was coming was because I contacted XoticPC myself. They gave me the ship date and Tracking #.
