Hello all! I love my Sager NP8760 however one thing that's really starting to bug me is how long my boot times are. With a fresh install and all drivers loaded I'm looking at a good 2 min with Windows 7 pro. This is rediculous I'd say! There's no programs loaded other than what comes with a fresh W7 install! My old Asus G51J was half that. Is there anything I can change to quicken this? I already enabled 4 cores in msconfig to try to help with not much improvement. What are your boot times? Thanks!

    Bad hard drive maybe?

My boot times were never nearly that bad, but since I got my Hitachi they've been 49 seconds (and that's once I can start opening programs and using the computer, not how long it takes to load the desktop).

Another thing to check is if your BIOS is trying to boot from anything other than HDD1 first.

There are plenty of ways to optimize your system. Pay attention to the HDD. You might need to reformat to fix the tables' shifts. But first, Run some system cleaners (CCleaner), check if your defrag is working at all (it should) and if not - force it.
