I am going to purchase a 8760 or a 9280 in January and I was wondering exactly what the smart bay batteries were and what were the advantages to them. Haven't bought a good laptop in quite some time. I did a search and couldn't find much info.

Sager isn't currently offering Smart Bay batteries, but a smart bay battery is a battery that is "hot-swappable" into an extra bay to provide extra battery life. Traditionally, they hot-swap with the DVD drive or else into an open bay. Sadly, Sager hasn't told us of any plans to bring in smart bay batteries any time soon.
