Would a RAID setup be possible or there is no controller?

Raid is impossible. Chipset doesn´t support (Intel® 82801HBM I/O controller hub (ICH8M) - AHCI only ) and BIOS doesn´t have that option.

 Specification says it has ICH8M-E but Everest shows it is 82801HBM ICH8-DO...

I don`t think another battery is possible. As you saw, even the hdd was sort of place improvising...and no RAID sucks ass, since that would`ve efectively made all load times stellar fast compared to a single hdd...
It`s still worth it for the disk space :D

you make that kalt? Seems it should be not too bad to make if the connector lines up with the HD and is the same type.

any one know how a second battery actually works?... does it require a chip or some small PCB to manage it or is it just literaly wired up to the main battery and fool it to being a say 12cell rather than a 9 ect as i would expect?.... honestly who uses CD/DVD roms drives now.. i could manage with out one beside original windows install..

m15x batterylife with smart bay joined with np5973 cooling solution/17inch would = ideal for more than just my self im sure i really wana be able to pump out more than a 1 hour of world of war craft battery life

A second battery should be individually linked since Windows reports them as such. But the total power adds up anyway, so who cares .
Sadly the 5793 does not have a smart bay, but Clevo should consider this for the future...

Just done a total cleaning of my NB, and did a little test of this smartbay as well. :D

    1. System booted in ST connected with primary Controller, FU connected the 2nd Controller per Smartbay.
    2. System booted in ST connected with 2nd Controller in Smartbay, FU connected the primary Controller.

According to the Pics the biggest different i found is the SB will only effect the Burst rate. But the Temp in SB will be much cooler than in NB itself......

ST in NB will reach max 60°C , and in SB only 45°C . FU in SB max 43°C, in NB arrives ~50°C.......

Update the new Hitachi Travelstar 5K500 HDD in Smartbay.

Max Temp 47°C, performance is ordinary. :)

So other than having 2 drives, there`s no real benefit ,right?
I mean,no real RAID ,no real boost in read/write speeds.

Well, the thing is, I use my dvd drive pretty often, when gaming, or watching movies or burning, so it`d be a bad choice for me.
A USB or firewire drive would do me more justice...
    Anyway,you`re a pioneer in this thing :D
