... And now the wait begins.
Got the P9500, 320GB 5400RPM HDD, 4GB of DDR3, and the TV tuner. I can't contain my excitement as it is... I'm not sure I'll be able to sleep once it ships.
But yeah, I'm looking forward to hopefully joining the list of happy 570TU owners!

yeah i can see how excited you are, you forgot to mention the most important component, what GPU?
-
Congrats
i just received mine today. I'm still writing up the review, i'm too tired now to finish it. but to say the least you will not be disappointed.
-
the 9800gt is pretty much the only option CURRENTLY available.
-
Yeah, I just assumed everyone would figure I got the 9800M GT
.
I'm usually good about posting reviews when I get new stuff... After I spend some time with it, though I'm not one of the first owners obviously, I'll still probably do a little write up anyway. -
Congratulations on your new purchase!
-
congrats and waiting for the review....patiently....

just so you know my review is up if you haven't seen it. Auburncoast's NP5796 review.
-
Thanks guys!
Auburncoast, I do believe I posted in it actually. Your review actually did play a part in my decision to be honest. Though I was always leaning towards the NP5796, a well written positive review or two is usually enough to push me over the edge.
I'm just hoping I don't end up with any of the M570TU "issues" that have been popping up. But I realized these are pretty small and not too bad compared to some of the just flat-out poorly built machines I've seen from other manufacturers. And of course, fingers crossed for no dead pixels since I didn't get the no dead pixel policy. But I've lived with them before, it's not a huge deal.
My friends that bought 14 inch Lenovos for college think im nuts for buying this.

You wouldn't happen to opt for the Turbo Robson 2, did ya? Be interesting to see if the second version is any better than the 1st sucky one.
-
Almost did... But I decided I'm going to let someone else be the guinea pig for that. After seeing the reviews of the first version I couldn't bring myself to order it. If I see a bunch of people getting it and raving about how much they love it, I might pick it up later. I'm assuming it's not a difficult addition.
-
-
I can use that $45 for gas
. Much better use of the money than the Robson from what I've heard.
-
Just curious, what made you decide to go with the built-in TV Tuner? I will be patiently awaiting your review on the tuner, if you don’t mind posting one?

Congratulations, that's a great configuration. We would like to see benchmarks when you get it.
-
I got the tuner because this will by my primary machine for college and I'll be living in a dorm. By getting a notebook with a TV tuner and nice screen I'm hoping to avoid bringing a TV this year altogether, saving space. And with the machine's HDMI output I'll be able to hook it up to a nicer TV if I get one down the road and not have to worry about getting an antenna or convertor box. Though it does create the problem of not being able to work and watch TV at the same time...
. I will gladly post my thoughts on the tuner when I receive it.
And yes, I've seen how much you guys like benchmarks on here so I will be posting some numbers. I plan on dual booting XP and Vista Ultimate 64-bit on this (I ordered Vista through Xotic and I have a fresh copy of XP sitting at home somewhere) so I'll be able to compare how the two run on this machine as well.

does that tv tuner support digital signal... cause come feb 2009 if it doesnt.... dun dun dun.
-
will you be using xp64 with vista? or just xp x86.
-
-
Oh??
I was thinking you got the built-in model.
Nice setup! -
Yeah, I don't think they offer a built-in model. Not on the NP5796 anyway.
So I made a decision. Ordered up a NP5796 from Xotic tonight...
