Well driving from lake Tahoe on US50W to San Francisco I can say that drivers thought that lane lines were just guidance rather than things you should stick to and that rolling road blocks of one car in each lane doing less than the speed limit was a great idea.

In the UK they have started pulling people over for sticking to the middle lane too much :p

I once did a planned change for a customer that involved taking down their machine (internal non concurrent cache battery urgh) (cache batteries protect HDD cache data in flight during a power loss), got it all done without issue and closed the change with all the work done.

A few days later I get an email from the tech team asking why I shut down the server as if that's something I just enjoyed doing on a whim. (IBM iSeries server, the kind you don't like to power down often and not the newest machine on the block either)

Turns out they added in some kind of report job for the customer which they did not add to the start up program or system check listing then complained to me why it was not running after I restarted it.

They did not even bother looking at the machine which clearly showed closed logs from the work or our change control folder for the customer.

little update : according to digiTimes, pascal mobile gpus should be revealed during GAMESCOM, so the N.D.A. will be lifted between august 17th and august 21st. In a little more than two weeks.

Gamescom is considered as the european E3, so expect gaming laptops from MSI, Gigabyte, Asus etc. Since it's in Germany maybe XMG will show us the new pascal clevo refresh series there :D. Wait&See
