ive been running win8 on my rig for four months now without issues. so i guess its safe to say that the newer EM series should also be running it just fine ;)

    I can second that,

Actually switching to windows 8 made my BSODs associated with AMDs beta driver installation go away. Installing drivers is much easier now.
There are win8 drivers for the killer wireless cards, and other drivers are provided on Sagers site.

I cannot go back to win7.

On new ones most people are going with 8 now but some people sticking to 7. If you upgrade to 8 you can download drivers from Sager here Software Upgrade

Windows 8 AHCI drivers were slower on my SSD. I was getting about 30k IOPS compared to 90k in windows 7.

Did you check to see if there are any firmware updates for your SSD, they could have released some made for Windows 8.

I'm on the latest SSD firmware. I also checked to see if intel had released their Rapid Storage Drivers for windows 8 yet but alas, no. With the default Win 7 AHCI drivers I get about 60k IOPS. The Intel ones are the ones that got me into the 90-100k range. So, until intel releases their drivers for windows 8 I'm going to stick with 7.

As hulawafu77 remarked: it has always been stable. If you're concerned about driver and various software compatibility, that's always an ongoing battle with various component manufacturers/software developers and Microsoft. While it could certainly stand to be better in this regard, it will only improve in time, and is absolutely stable. :)
