If i ordered a basic 2090, (just boot the processor up a notch), on the 17th of august. I would not see it untill early october probobly because Compal has decided to screw the resellers over?

    Nice, very nice...

You are correct. Don't bother with the 2090. I ordered mine on July 6 and was expecting 4 weeks at the most. I call the reseller and they end up saying that the notebook won't ship until late August! I'm with the Asus G1S now it is a better gaming notebook.

Well, the 2090 really was the ONLY option for the price range i have (less than $1600 canadian). So now i'm just screwed :(

What angers me is that even though the resellers have no idea of when they'll be able to fulfill orders they still give out dates. I ordered on July 29 and was told it would defiantly be here by mid to late August.

I supposized based on the assumption that the bottleneck may not lift, and orders would simply continue to slip, thus one ordering mid august would not seee their laptop until late september/early october, especially if living in canada :(

that is a fairly big assumption, isn't it?

I'm not saying that is completely impossible, but various sites are still saying shipping mid-August...kind of alarmist.

The reason so many sellers are FORCED to give out dates is because nearly everyone wants them too. I think if it were completely up to the sellers they'd ship them as they get them, but people call them up, email them, post here daily about when they're going to get theirs. And when they say they can't give a date, people say 'well when do you think they'll come'. And so they post when they think they'll come, when in reality it's not up to them.

hmm.. well the bottleneck IS getting shorter if that helps at all.. I had to wait a month and a half.. so if some guys are getting it in about 3 weeks... it'll probably go down to around 2 weeks soon

WXGA shipments should be flowing regularly. They reportedly are to Sager and Micro Express, which means just a bit longer before us at PNB and Xotic get the trickle-down. The bottleneck is definitely getting shorter- people who ordered intially were waiting something like 45 days, I'm looking to get mine at the 30 day point, people ordering this month with WXGA should get it late this month-early next.

There are other resellers that sell the same laptop with different warrenties like PNB, Xotic, Cyberpower, Micro Express....etc. call them up and see if you can recieve the laptop by then.

well.. only problem is most of the resellers won't know for sure for ETAs... they're up to the mercy of Compal/Sager and even if they give you one.. I'd plan for around 1 week or 2 after they say... Hope for the best plan for the worst!
