Several times I've been playing Majora's Mask and my computer has completely turned off (like holding the power button for 8 seconds). Any idea what is causing this? It isn't happening in specific spots in the game, and it seems completely random.

make sure to do the following since its crashing:

HDD: do a CHKDSK C: /F (right-click on Command Prompt... "Run as Administrator" to make it work in Vista)

RAM: make sure your memory is ok but getting MemTest86+ and autobooting from the CD.

Software conflicts: make sure that you are running the emulator with Windows XP compatibility mode.
... if you are doing that already... it might be not fully working in a Vista environment since there are some Project64 Beta's for Vista... which I recommend to try.

if you are running it in XP, you should still do the HDD and Memory tests to make sure they do not have errors on them.
.... crashes will causes orphan files to accumulate on the HDD... which will stack up and cause more issues later on.

Also in the Graphics Plugin config, try to turn off AA and AF.

I am having the same issue after upgrading the BIOS to the latest version. I was running 3DMark06 and during the 3rd test it just shut down. It also shutdown while I was downloading something and all other apps were closed. I fresly installed Windows Vista x64 but I still have the same issues. First I thought that maybe this was caused because I overclocked my X9100 CPU but after disabling it in the BIOS it completely shutdown again.

In my case it really started after the BIOS upgrade. I can't imagine that my notebook now suddenly overheats just by running Windows Vista and downloading something from the internet with everything else closed.

Ok, when running MemTest86+, my laptop does the random shut off. At around 32% on the overall bar, I have two errors then it just crashes as I described before. What the hell is wrong here?

I tried it with MemTest86+ as well and my completely shuts down when running Test 4. In the BIOS I have set the fan control to "continuous" and now I can run the tests fine and my notebook hasn't shut down again since then.

How do I enable that? It won't mean my fan is actually constantly running like Fn+1, right?

You can enable this in the BIOS. We are still not sure what the diff is between "automatics" and "continuous". See this thread.

Where do I find this option in the BIOS?

In one of the screens under "Fan Control". On the same screen where you can overlock your CPU and where you can choose which OS is installed.

Uh... None of that is in the 9262's BIOS...

My M570RU with the latest 1.00.11 BIOS, doesn´t have that option too...

BTW, N1MBL3 your BIOS version says 1.00.XX S or 1.00.XX Sa?

    ;)

BIOS v1.00.09 LS3, I thought that you had these options in other clevo-based notebooks as well, apparently not.

Ok, not good. Apparently it randomly shut off while it was just idle earlier today. Does anyone have any idea what is causing this?

    did you do MemTest86+ yet?

I read it was not successful.

It might be the memory... pull a stick of RAM and do the test again.

Erm, I'm not sure how comfortable I am with just "pulling" a stick of RAM. Is the RAM easily removed and replaced in a 9262, and if that does turn out to be the problem will it be covered by Sager?

yes... memory is the most simplest of all hardware upgrades.

read the user manual... its all there.

...and what ever covered in the User Manual will not affect your warranty.
