Keep in mind I'm planning on upgrading with my own SSD, memory, and whatnot later, so I'm not a crazy person for the 2 empty hard drive slots!

Most of these decisions came from this long(but very helpful) earlier thread

It is a great setup indeed, especially for gaming with that wireless network card.

It will run games like a hot knife through butter.

Thats a good setup. It looks almost like mine but I choosed an I7 2630QM and the 500GB Hybrid drive (great harddrive :)). Afterwards I regret that I didn't choose an even better CPU like the 2760QM at least, because it seems more expensieve to upgrade that later.
    The 6990M gpu is awesome.

Honestly, I think CPU is fine, because the slight improvement is not worth it. However, down the line, it might be worth it to upgrade to a secondhand 28xx.

I think the HDD is fine, and of course, the 6990M will not disappoint.

Thats pretty much the setup for my 8170. Should have it by wed next week :D I opted to keep the regular compound and will also use my own SSD. Would be fun to compare temps and benchmark results once you get yours.

Yeah, the 6990m is a no-brainer for Sagers..

    :D

If it was a Dell, I would get the 580m.. :D
