I was hoping for a decent Sager config available by end of February. I haven't really seen anything announced anywhere. Anyone?

This thread, for now:
Clevo P150HM (with Sandy Bridge and GTX 485M)
There should be more info in a few hours though. -
I keep reading that as Sandy Britches.... nobody wants sand in their britches!

how impatient

Impatient? CES is coming to a close. Usually details are flooding these forums with a new series of CPUs or GPUs. But XoticPC has come through well so far. I guess I'll wait a few days to see what's in store as far as switchable graphics.

Intel had embargoed sales of Sandybridge until one minute after midnight today, so that is why you are seeing them show up now.
Switchable graphics will show up on the Sager line up later this week, but won't feature the high end video cards. Switchable graphics will still be using mid-range discrete cards along with integrated graphics. -
Thank you paladin44. +1.
I just noticed you guys have the Sager NP8130 as well, will check your pricing out. -

Don't let the fact that you can't have what you have never been able to have (Optimus with a high end discrete video card) slow you down. At this time it is still a dream in the fog

I know, I'm not. I'm now debating between 15" and 17". I already have an SSD (Intel 80GB G2) and a 750GB Seagate for storage, plus 8GB DDR3 1333MHz that I just bought on a great deal. Bottom line it'll cost me $250 difference to go from 15" to 17", but give me dual hard drives/ssd's with a blu-ray player, plus future upgradeability options. Just don't know if $250 is worth that to me when I have an external Blu-ray reader, and may just sell the laptop in 18-24 months to buy something new instead of upgrade. I really like the matte screen though, but I know I can get a matte film to put over the screen. I did that on my M11x and it actually looks pretty good. Just not sure where to buy one of those, do you?
-
well its not like you will burn those 250 buck, they will keep you entertained for 18-24 months until you decide to have another one
the 17' is always better BUT it will make the "desktop replacment" less portable so its up to you ^_^ -
Any 15-16" FHD, Sager with i5 sandy bridge yet ?
-
NP8130 - 15" with 1080p, i7-2630QM, GTX 460m, 8GB RAM
NP8150 - 15" with 1080p, i7-2630QM, GTX 460m or GTX 485m, 4GB RAM -

May I ask, why you'd prefer a Core i5 over the 2630OM?
-
Switchable graphics is about the only reason since no vendors seem to be offering quads with a decent GPU that are switchable.

Well, its more than that. When you go for switchable graphics you will find the i5 processors, but you will still only have a mid-range discrete GPU.
Also, you will not see Sandybridge i5 models available until late February to early March. They are not yet released. -
is that a FHD Matte screen for the Sager NP8130??
FINALLY, a great laptop with a FHD matte screen that doesn't cost $2,000+! Glad I've waited for Sandy Bridge to upgrade. -
-
-
I prefer SB i5 (dual core) over SB i7 (quad core), because of less heat and battery drainage.
-
Will they offer 470M with switchable on NP8130? hehe
So where are all the big Sandy Bridge Clevo announcements?
