I'm looking at buying the 860TU in favor over the Alienware mainly because you get a lot more bang for your buck. But, I see the 2 graphic card option snow on the Clevo. If i'm wanting the best card for gaming - WoW, Crysis, FarCry2, etc.. which is better to go with? the new Quadro FX 2700M or the 9800M GTS ??
I think the 9800M draws 75watts to the Quadro 65w which makes me think less heat, I was trying to find some good reviews out there but haven't come across some.
thanks..

The GPU runs very cool on this machine as does the CPU. A 9800M GT in it shouldn't go over the low to mid 70s or so; mine maxes in the mid 60s. A couple that I've seen go to low 80s, but they're outliers, imo. The notebook can handle hotter CPUs as well easily from what I've seen.
There's no reason to get a Quadro in this, unless you want to save money or are using it mainly for graphic design work. -
cool, thanks guys. really appreciate the advice.

I can say 9800m GT is an excellent all around. For gaming as well as graphic design and model work. So I can only assume the 9800m GTS is almost as good. Of course, not to the same greatness level of 9800m GT, but it comes close enough.

Its a ~3-5% difference between the 9800M GT and the 9800M GTS but the GT's aren't being manufactured anymore so you'll need to find someone who still carries some in stock. There are a few about just take a poke through the resellers list

However, there is nothing wrong with the 9800m GTS, its just slower, that's all. -
9800M GTS 440 CND (341 USD) 540 CND (420 USD) for the GT.
Is the marginal performance increase worth 100 CND (79 USD)?
If you wish to pay in USD then it would be 400 USD for the GTS and 491 for the GT, which makes it even worse quantitatively but cheaper % wise.
So a 22-23% or so increase in price for 3-5% difference in performance. Note, however, that this only applies to Eurocom's prices, it is merely an example.
Price/performance is dependent on what the buyer values most.
So, Quadro FX 2700M or 9800M GTS in the 860TU.
