Later Im planning on upgrading to a qx9300 and 3 SSD in Raid 0...

Now, I really want to purchase from Xotic PC but I live in Canada... I dont want to buy from eurocom especially with the CAD dollar will most likley be on par with the US dollar soon.

Has anyone here had any experience ordering rom Xotic who is located in Canada. They said on there website to ship with UPS Express (129 dollars ouch) and that would by pass any brokerage fees some people also said they didnt have to pay tax! I would really like to here from someone with this experience from ordering for xotic and shipping to canada first hand thanks..

I have heard bad stories of people having stuff shipped from U.S through UPS and found out they have to pay some hefty fees & taxes at the door. Ask them if they can ship with FedEx or USPS. If they can do not opt for the slowest shipping method (Ground for example) because they might still charge you fees that way.

Taxes on a 2k$ laptop are around 250$, so of course the express shipping of 129$ doesn't cover it :p You skip brokerage fees by getting the express, and you pay GST+PST at your door when the laptop arrives. I ordered through xoticpc with the express shipping and I didn't have any problems. Shipping was excellent and fast.

Im gettin everything stock (including dual 280m :) )

It will cost me a little under 3k with taxes which is is about 300 bucks less then an m17x. And this includes a faster proccesor and a larger and faster hardrive.

Then later Im going to sell the p8700 and buy a ES qx9300 for about 400 CAD when the prices drop a bit aswell as buy 2-3 SSD and raid 0 them when the prices fall. I might wait for the Cad to be on par with the lappy before I order though
