Seems to be the same design like M980NU, not my favorite. The old M860TU is better for me. :D

hmm looks cool but I still prefer my M860TU with its uncommon white keyboard :D
It looks a bit ''fatty'' and its grainy surface doesn't look as good as the M860TU. Maybe it's not definitive I hope so lol.

    i7 cpu inside ?

I guess until there is no new good graphic card MXM III type B, W860CU is worthless

    Thanks for sharing !

Where did you get this info kaltmond plz.

I like its look, expecially the keyboard.

Clevo is using these old keyboards couple years and it is very good facelift.

I also like the matte surface. Does it look to you guys as slim as it seems to me?

I hope there is 3.0b MXM!!! (sure there is)

EDIT: Check it out! They listed W870CU and it says : 17.3-inch Full HD LED Display

    http://www.eurocom.com/products/showroom/specselectnew.cfm?model_id=208

I do not see w860cu though...

The palm rest area has changed slightly on the W860. Sager has a demo of the final ID on hand and they should have some public pictures available very soon.

Any chance they'll put a switchable graphics in it for improved battery life? What about a Matte screen? If they include those two features, I'll consider selling the one I have now and build another :)

Hmmm where is the power buttong...

Remember Full HD or FHD is 1920x1080 not 1920x1200.

It seems 1920x1200, will die with the next Clevos. :(

    + fullsize keyboard
    + mobile i7
    + no silly glass screen
    + MXM 3.0
    + conservative and attractive design
    + LED screen
+ Dedicated CPU and GPU cooling!!!

    - all of the audio outputs and 2 usb sockets are on the right side... diminishes the comfort of a mouse
    - vertically shallow screen because of 16:9

It better have options for 1600x900 and 1920x1080!

Ok, Clevo hit it out of the ballpark. Dedicated CPU and GPU cooling, and they fixed that hideous palm rest? Hell yeah! :D Gee, it even looks like the HDD got a heatsink finally, haha

What's the chip dead center with the dinky heatsink? Is that an integrated GPU?

hmm, seems like my m860 is lame now =\. i dont think the mobile i7's are gonna be that successful when they are released, so i would wait a while before i decide to upgrade to one of those. im just glad clevo did work on the internals. no more shared gpu/cpu heatsink and the hard drive has a cooler, finally. cant wait for this :D

The picture showing the internals is great! They have fixed some of the major issues and it will be very interesting to see the HDD temps and the mobile i7 performance, especially in GTA IV.

Some one will hopefully do some good benchs of this in action. Either way, my NP8662 is doing a great job in every single game I play and I can't justify any upgrade or new purchase so soon.

I wonder how much cooler the GPU and CPU will be since they no longer share the same heatsinks. Excellent!

    system cooling looks great !!
let's hope it can be overclock directly from the bios like other clevo lappy !
When greater video card will be release + CPU overclocking it will simply be the best 15" ever

Yes I still think buying a M860TU now was a good choice , a lot cheaper and it would be better to wait for new mobile video card.
At first they may just have simillar performances.

Hope you guys don't mind an Asus owner invading your area.

The W860 looks sexy as hell. I like the full-size chiclet keyboard, and while it's not backlit like my current machine, I rarely need backlit keys, anyway. They're more of a conversation starter.

With the superior cooling system and whatever mods you care to put (I'm going to try adding copper blocks to my G51's heatpipe, and to whatever other machine I get), you would be able to squeeze a lot of overclocking out of that card. Also, if I understand how MXM GPUs work (which I really don't), I could upgrade to, say, a 280m or whatever the hell nVidia releases as long as it's the right slot.

The one thing I do wish Clevo would implement would be a second HDD bay, but with all the stuff that's packed in there I could get over it quickly. When are those huge-capacity laptop HDDs coming out, anyway?

And after taking a closer look, the palmrest looks kind of... ugly.

Very nice, this news came out sooner than I expected!

I wonder how this will compare with the current Clevo D900F with its desktop Core i7 processor. I'd like to see the trade-off between performance and heat/battery life with these mobile i7s.

Now if only these could also have an Expresscard 2.0 slot or some port to use an external desktop graphics card with full bandwidth. ;)

I think in the future, Clevo should make it so that owners with previous models but the same chassis can purchase a motherboard for the new model so they can enjoy the latest chipset and processors without buying a whole new notebook, make them more upgradable like desktops.

No no no I would HATE it to have a second hdd slot, that space can be used to much better things I think. But it's my opinion :). The laptop does look nice, but I still find my M860TU better looking (although I haven't seen this one in person yet). The thing I would absolutely kill to have in this laptop is an integrated gpu. It would be the ultimate laptop.

Oh and doesn't the laptop look bigger than the M860TU? I know it is 15'6, but will it be like in the 8lbs or so? Hope not :/.

    Size matters? Kidding, kidding.

For the HDD slots, someone said on one of the (numerous) G51 threads that Asus could have put the space the second HDD bay takes up to better use, like using it to solve the heat issues. Even though I would miss the extra capacity, I agree with the sentiment.

With bigger hard drives coming out that problem would be solved, though.

    HDDs got heatsink
seperate heatsinks..well thats a great job for 15" notebook...

but i still like the aluminium brush of m860etu better...the suede or whatever leather skin is that..doesnt look very good...just my opinion

This is the same question that was asked of the M860TU and the M570TU. Clevo will release the W860CU with the GTX 260M for marketing purposes. Prospective buyers would either need to purchase the GTX 280M seperately, which is expensive unless you can secure a buyer on the return, or purchase the W870CU if they want the GTX 280M.

    Hey people,

So we can still tick off the wish list a 2ND HDD / Smartbay (which definitely means no second battery ala m15x, no backlit keyboards and no intergrated graphics.

What we can say of the improvements is that Clevo is obviously listening to its customer base in terms of temperature problems.

Looking at the internal picture Justin posted, this is likely to be finalised compared to exterior/aesethtic changes, right?

Is the palmrest made of leather or plastic? Either way it seems it won't attract many fingerprints, which is always a plus.

I can't make out what the space between the GPU heatsink and the harddrive bay is mean't to be. It looks way too small to be the CD-drive bay...
