I have been reading in this forum for some time, and this is actually my first post so Hi everyone!

So, my dad is traveling soon to the US, and I thought it is a good opportunity for buying a new laptop.
What I want to do is to send the laptop to my uncle who lives in L.A, and my dad will take it from there.
So after searching for some time, I am considering to buy the sager np8130, and I have a few question for you guys.

    1. Does any of the resellers accept international credit cards? it will my life much easier..

    2. I am thinking of ordering the laptop without an OS, so how can my dad check everything is ok before he comes back?

    3. How resistant are the sager laptops? as I understand the warranty will be valid only in the u.s?

    4. How much time does the shipping take? I need the laptop to arrive until December 5.

thank's so much for your help, and sorry fo my english..

    On your first post:

1.) Check with the resellers you are interested in. Policy changes from company to company. Once you get 5 posts you can send PMs, or you can probably email them too :)

2.) If your dad is tech-savvy, he can load a copy of Windows 7 without having to register it for 30 days so he can use it and see if it works. You can get the Windows 7 ISO from here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/sag...-7-download-links-just-like-vista-before.html

3.) The laptops are very sturdy. For warranty questions, contact your reseller as each one will have some different warranty options available.

4.) Build times vary according to resellers, but right now we've been having laptops ship after about 3-7 business days (depending on stock availability, billing, etc.)

On your second post, you've got a good-looking build there! Only things I would suggest would be the hard drive (consider an SSD/hybrid drive?) or possibly the 2670QM?

^Thanks for the reply. Is the 2670QM worth the 50$ upgrade? from what I hear it's not much better than the 2630QM. what ssd do you recommend? (manufacture, size..)

The 2670QM is around 10% better. Whether or not you'll really need that 10% is up to you, depending on the applications you plan on using.

I usually suggest an Intel 120GB 510 Series SSD, combined with a 500GB HDD in the optical bay. Optical drives aren't used as often as they used to be, so you could grab an external optical drive or just stick to USB thumb drives :)

What all is covered by the "limited warranty with parts"?
