    Something in D901C clunking

    This morning I picked up my D901C to put in my bag and take to work to the obvious sound of something loose inside moving around.

    It is coming from the DVD drive area. Removed DVD drive and made sure nothing to do with card reading or ExpressCard slot as far as possible.

    Only other obvious thing I can think of is the internal speaker around there. Is this easy to get at to check? If it is the driver is there any way this can work itself to a position it can cause damage elsewhere? Have seen other laptops where the speakers are pretty much enclosed in their own little box..

    You could take out the keyboard in order to check the left speaker.

    Cool, will try that tomorrow. From previous dismantling can't remember seeing to access from under the keyboard though...
