I am planning on purchasing a NP8662 (from Xotic PC) and just have a few final questions before ordering.

Here are the specs of the system I am considering:

15.4" WSXGA+ "Glare Type" Super Clear Ultra Bright Glossy Screen (1680x1050) - 8662
    - ~Intel® T9600 45nm "Montevina" Core™2 Duo 2.8GHz w/6MB L2 On-die cache - 1066MHz FSB 35 watt
    - nVidia GeForce GTX 260M 1,024MB PCI-Express DDR3 DX10 (User Upgradeable)
    - ~ 4,096MB DDR3 1066MHz Dual Channel Memory (2 SODIMMS)
    - 4GB Intel® Robson Turbo Memory II

    1) Is it worth upgrading to a P9700 processor? I am looking for the processor that will offer the best battery life and performance.

    2) Is Intel Turbo Memory worth it and does it provide better performance? 4gb or 2gb?

There are a few threads like this already. Intel turbo memory can/not provide better performance. The reviews on the matter are mixed, but it can't hurt.

As for the processor, your chosen core 2 duo is fine, people have their own opinions on this matter, some prefer quad for the future, others perfer faster duos for cpu intensive gaming, in the end, it doesn't matter too much.

    1) Both offer the same performance, the only advantage the P9700(25W) has over the T9600(35W) is it consumes a little less power.
Is it worth the extra $35 for the upgrade? Sure if you want slightly more battery life( not exactly sure how much more it lasts but If I had to guess maybe 10 or 15 minutes). The big advantage of the P9700 is it puts out less heat and for that reason alone it's worth it.

2)Never had Intel Turbo Memory but from all the reviews I have read it's a mixed bag but most people say it's not worth it.
It does not offer any performance gain in gaming just increases boot time but with windows 7 coming out soon ( I'm guessing your getting Vista and getting a FREE W7 upgrade) that problem will be solved in itself.

Your never going to get good battery life with this, but yes the P9700 is a better choice in that area.

Forget the Turbo Memory and take that saved 85 bucks and put it towards a more expensive processor such as the P9700.
