I see the NP8131 and NP8151 on XoticPC but there's no indication of a backlit keyboard. Will that be unique to Ivy Bridge?

    NP8131 has no backlit keyboard,

NP8151 does have a backlit keyboard.

I didn't see it in the specs or description... but then again, I had my kids screaming in my ears while I was trying to read...

xotic's specs aren't the official specs of the laptops because they're aren't technically released yet. The new intel chipset is still under NDA until sunday so the resellers don't have official configuration pages up yet. As Ryan stated:

    NP8131 (P151EM) won't have a backlit option
    NP8151 (P150EM) and NP8171 (P170EM) will have backlit keys
