What are the options for sound on the M570RU. I know it has built-in speakers, and I assume it has a jack for headphones, but does it have the jacks necessary for surround sound?

I'm really sorry to sound like a newb, but I don't even know what ports are required for surround sound. I love my computational hardware, but in the past I've been happy as long as the machine emits noises in one form or another. Now though, I'm hoping to get some quality audio, and was wondering if I buy a pair of Logitech 5.1 speakers off of NewEgg.com if they will work with my M570RU. If not, what kind of speaker options are open for an M570RU?

Thanks a lot guys and I apologize if my audio newbness rubs off on anyone ;)

I don't see how you would get 7.1 or 8-channel surround sound out of this thing. 1 of the 4 jacks in the front is for digital output. Furthermore, the Realtek sound manager lists 6-channel as its highest option. Finally, it seems as though it might not be possible to use a microphone with 5.1 surround because, ignoring the digital output jack, there just isn't one free once you've plugged in the three prongs required for analog 5.1 output.

If it is possible to use a microphone in addition to 5.1 surround, please let me know how. (Don't cop out with an answer like using a USB sound card.)

I think it may be virtual surround sound. You're going to want one of those X-Fi express cards for surround sound either way, as I don't see any standard notebook cards with very good quality sound.
