So usually I use a platronics game headset and that works fine...
but whenever I use my 5792's regular built in audio (Realtek HD audio or w/e)

its like really low... not inaudiable, I mean i can hear it, but I cant like get it very loud its hard to even listen youtube videos and stuff and I have everythin cranked.

ANyway, anyway I can make them louder cause its quite frusterating getting overshawdowed by my GF's dell audio output.. lol.

You mean the speakers, right? It's common for the M57*RU's I believe...and it's a shame really. Wish there was a way to increase volume, but I guess that would require some serious modding, possibly voiding warranty...

I tweaked the "powerful" equalizer settings and than saved the file. I mostly gave it more bass.
Also, are you sure you have surround sound on? FN + 2 turns it on/off.

Not sure about your volume problem as mine can get pretty darn loud. Does pressing or holding Fn+F6 turn it up for you?

Make sure that the sound is all the way up also. I dont know how many times the sound has been low, but showing full. Because of Media Player classic.

Well, I think the problem simply is that the speakers of the NP5793 are too weak.

Comparing the speakers of my old Inspiron 9400 to the speakers of the NP5793, I can tell you that the difference is like night and day. The I9400 has powerful, bass-filled sound, whilst the NP5793 really has no bass and very low volume.
