Hey guys, i was just wondering if any1, with maybe even other laptops have had a weird squealing noise thats coming from the computer. not the speakers. it happens wenever i move an explorer box, or scroll up and down on one. It sounds like its coming from the top right, around where the power button its. Its a variable pitched squealing. Its not the fans, i shut them off, still happens. any ideas? rele annoying and troublesome. It seems to coincide with when the HDD is looking for something. ya know, wen the lil green cup blinks. Maybe my HDD needs to be oiled? or replaced?? any ideas. any respones helpful.

You might be hearing your RAM or Processor. Try putting your computer on "Maximum Performance" and see if the sound is still there

It might be power related, maybe your outlet is dying or the adapter is starting to malfunction.
-Check your HDD with HDTune for errors
-look what component is in the place where the noise comes from. It might be a bad component, but if it`s squelling,I`m guessing it`s power related.
-double check your system is not overheating.

I think it might be power related.
I had one of the first Macbook Pro's and the first revisions all had this problem when the processor is idle it makes a sound and when you move windows around or put some load on the cpu it goes away.
The problem was that first revisions had parts on the motherboard that were not properly earthed.
I sent it for repair, they did a mb swap and it was all good.
Run a CPU benchmark and see if you still hear the strange noise.

Get a new power brick while you're still under warranty - the power bricks don't seem to be of the highest quality, so if it's failing already, if you wait, it'll probably bite the dust right after your warranty does.
