I assume the 6230 has better range, and that alone would justify the upgrade, but there's been a lot of complaints from Dell owners that their 6230 cards don't work properly. My main concern is having my wireless connection be hassle-free and reliable. So with that in mind, which of the two options should I pick, default or 6230? How have they worked out for you guys?

You will definitely want the Intel 6230... I use this card night and day at home and work - without issue. In addition to having better range, the 6230 is dual-band (allows connectivity at 2.4 GHz / 5 GHz) compared to the single band (2.4 GHz) stock card... and can deliver up to 300 Mbps, compared to 150 Mbps on the stock card. :)

Great! Let us know if you have any questions!

Same for my personal machine. My router supports 450Mbps and I use bluetooth for pairing with my phone so it was a simple choice. The speed boost over stock is noticeable if you have a capable router.
