Can someone please help me I would really appreciate it.

Well for the NP5792, all you gota do is
1. Take off the bottom case
2. You should see the copper heatsink so you take that off
3. Unlock the processor with a flathead
4. Wipe off thermal compound
5. Put in your new processor
6. Put on thermal compound
7. Slap that heatsink back on
8. Now slap that case back on then you're done.
9. If you're using Vista, you might need to go into your hardware, go under your processor and right click your old one and uninstall it. -
This kind of thread makes me rethink if the Creator made all people equal and with some common sense
.
To explain it otherwise...you remove everything until you get to the CPU, take it out, put the new one back and put back everything you removed. It ain't that hard. -
Yeah, dont have to rub it in, I just needed a little help. I just needed a pic to see where it was. Jesus
-
This may be too simple, but why wouldn't there be a BIOS upgrade needed?
-
-
Umm, getting back to the matter at hand, what bios upgrade I thought that would be automatic, when the comp recognizes the CPU.
-
You might want to work with your re-seller on this, considering your machine might need a BIOS update to recognize the new CPU.
I don't own a 926x, I'd ask a re-seller to provide your pictures and a walkthrough over the phone if that kind of work is warranty allowed. -
if you cant perform a CPU upgrade in a desktop dont attempt it in a laptop!!!
-
Well said!
-
I can upgrade a CPU in a desktop no problem, basically its just reapply thermal compound then drop in the processor and put everything back the reverse way you took it apart.
-
My son, may the god of AS5 and the mother****ing Dalai Lama be with you and light your path with every screw you unscrew
.
-
, umm why would I want the god of ASS to be with me.
-
AS5 = Arctic Silver 5.
I can say ass, why would I write AS5?
The god of Ass...that's J Lo dude(goddess actually).
-
XD, amen. Anyway, which fan is the CPU under in the 9262.

Yeah, it was pretty funny, so yeah, we both deserve rep.
-
dude last i read you were waiting till april to order a laptop.
by then some of the tech will change.
just wait till then and then ask questions.
some of the questions your asking now may not matter by the time your ready to order. -

-
No, I do that all the time.
-
Anyway, thanks people, I just wanted to know, so really all I need is the processor and some AS5.
