    I have a process running called STKHK.EXE..


    what is it? do i need it? if not how do i get rid of it. doesnt come up on antivirus/windows defender or anything... just noticed it today

    if i end the process it goes away and nothing seems to stop working.

    Go into MSCONFIG and disable (if it's a start-up .exe).

    Also run a spyware/adware scan as well. It said that that executable is linked to take control of the system or record keyboard input, mouse activity and screen contents.

    Then again, this could be the manufacturers software that allows you to control various features such as backlighting, media buttons, LEDs, etc.

    No. Run a proper anti-spyware, anti-adware program like Ad-Aware or Spybot. They're free! Get em'.

    It appears that I have that process running also. Following it, it appears to lead to the webcam folder. After ending the process, the hotkey for the videoview program doesn't work. Turning it back on, the hotkey works again. It seems to be the program that monitors that hotkey. Nothing wrong with that.

    Thanks... I thought so much since it only popped up after i Re-installed my video cam drivers.
