**Sorry for the title, hit enter while typing**

I am getting confused by the configuration abilities on the P650 line

    1TB 7200RPM Hard Drive (Upgradeable)
    Two changeable 2.5" 7mm (H) HDD/SSD (RAID 0/1 support), or One changeable 2.5" 9.5mm(H) HDD/SSD
Two M.2 2280 SSD (RAID 0/1 support), SATA interface or One M.2 2280 SSD, PCIe Gen2 x2/x4 interface

Is the 1TB that comes stock with the model a 7mm or 9.5mm? I was hoping to through a desktop SSD that I have laying around into the laptop as well as keep the 1TB HDD that it comes with...

From what I have seen, there are no 1TB 7200 RPM HDD that are 7mm. It is most likely going to be a 9.5mm drive, but you can ask the seller for more specific information. Seeing as you are looking at the P650 line, the P650SG (and most likely the new version P650RG) can support one 9.5mm drive and a 7mm drive.

I double checked and they said 9mm as well.. However, the description says (2) 7.5 or (1) 9mm.. If it would fit one and one that would be amazing.. where did you see that tho?

I own the P650SG and I have been able to fit the 9.5mm drive that came with the system along with 7mm SSD. The P650SG has enough space in the chassis to allow both drives, but the P650SE does not without modification.

Right now I don't believe anyone has the new P650R# series laptop reviewed. Assuming it has a similar chassis as the P650S# line then you can check the owner's lounges for those laptops to see.

Looks like the P650RE version (970m) would only be able to do the HDD or one/two SSD, but not one of each. While the P650RG (980m) will be able to do one of each. I had to check in to that, but it looks to be the same was as the SE / SG versions as before.

    Nice work Pat!!

Is it the same chassis? I thought I remember reading the new one had a full metal body.. Mostly concerned with the build of the hinges.

As I am sure you gathered I am just one of those customers that ask a million questions! haha

    Isn't it the same thing like the P650SE (2 x 7mm or 1 x 9.5mm) and P650SG (2 x 7mm or 1 x 9.5mm/1 x 7mm)? Are the P650RE and P650RG that different?
