    Hi,
I had a blue screen stop errors 10 minutes ago, it was so unexpected and fast, i didn't get to read the errors. I was just playing Sims 3, having a skype call and on chrome (youtube etc.). How do i find out what went wrong?
I bought this laptop from Malibal two years ago. I still have one year left of warranty but i never have the chance to send it back for maintenance.

    Hi,
I downloaded WhoCrashed. I hit "Analyze" and under Conclusion it says :

"Crash dumps are enabled but no valid crash dumps have been found. It may be that there are problems which prevent crash dumps from being written out. Check out the following article for possible causes: If crash dumps are not written out.

In case your computer does experience sudden reboots it is likely these are caused by malfunctioning hardware, power failure or a thermal issue. To troubleshoot a thermal issue, check the temperature using your BIOS setup program, check for dust in CPU and motherboard fans and if your computer is portable make sure it's located on a hard surface. Otherwise it's suggested you contact the support department of the manufacturer of your system or test your system with a memory test utility for further investigation.

Check out the following articles for more information: Troubleshooting sudden resets and shut downs.

Read the topic general suggestions for troubleshooting system crashes for more information.

Note that it's not always possible to state with certainty whether a reported driver is actually responsible for crashing your system or that the root cause is in another module. Nonetheless it's suggested you look for updates for the products that these drivers belong to and regularly visit Windows update or enable automatic updates for Windows. In case a piece of malfunctioning hardware is causing trouble, a search with Google on the bug check errors together with the model name and brand of your computer may help you investigate this further. "

So it is not detectable or am i doing the test incorrectly?

It sounds like the previous BSOD was not recorded for what ever reason. If it should happen again it check the log and hopefully its in there.

Go to your OS drive (usually C: ) -> Windows -> Minidump and see if there are dump files in the folder. If nothing, then no log was created. If there is one or more, you are welcome to upload it here or a file hosting site and then link us, and perhaps users can analyze it for you. :)

    Hi,

The Minidump folder is empty. Now i remember right after the crash, I ran CCleaner. Could that erase all the dump files?

CCleaner does clear those files by default. Hopefully you wont get a BSOD again but if so you'll now have the tools to find out what caused it and hopefully its an easy fix.
