I've been trying to figure this out for days, and can't come up with anything that work. I currently have NVIDIA 359.06 drivers installed. I went to upgrade to 361.75 and had the following problem.

The drivers would appear to install correctly, but after restarting, after the Windows 7 splash screen loaded for a few second, the computer would do a hard reset. The only way I was able to get into windows was through safe mode. I removed the drivers in safe mode with driver sweeper, and tried installing them again: same problem.

I also tried installing 361.43 and had the exact same issue.

After this, I tried reinstalling 359.06 and didn't have any problems. Any driver older than and including 359.06 will install correctly, but anything newer results in a hard reset upon reboot. I've been trying to figure this out for days, and have tried everything I can think of. 100% clean installs, only installing the display driver (no physx, 3dvision, audio, etc), nothing has worked.

Does anyone have any ideas? I'm running GTX 970m SLI 6gb with prema's vbios and prema's bios for my 377sm-a

That´s because you´re using Prema´s v1 vbios, nvidia changed something on their drivers that makes these incompatible. But he already posted his v2 vBios that allows you to install the latest nvidia drivers. ;)

Careful with the new drivers... I'm not impressed with them. At all...

Yeah welcome to the "plagued by crappy drivers club!" For me last good drivers was 350.12 on windows 8.1. Its either buy a new lappy or hope nvidia fix whatever they broke eventually.

This is why I really want AMD to come in with a nice thumping launch at some point (I can hope).

I got fed up with both 8.1 and 10 and picked up a 7 Pro license and spent a few hours figuring out how to get it up and running in EFI mode but I haven't had a single TDR since and I'm even running the 361.75 drivers. It seems more like its a kernel instability between 8.1 and 10.

I forgot how zippy a fresh 7 install is. I've still got 10 on my other SSD but I won't use it unless I have to.

I haven't had any real issues with the drivers. Might be b/c I'm still on 7.
