Has any one seen these artifacts?

Does it mean my video card has taken a wrong turn?

How old? It could very well be the GPU if it's more than a couple of years old.

Yeah, I was thinking one of the Video components on the motherboard is starting to quit. The Sager 8890 is five years old.

And for MrDJ, this is Vista's Control Panel in its Home view - not Classic, and as you can see with aero activated.

I contacted Sagernotebooks. They wanted me to send in my 8890 (Clevo D800P) in order to repair my Motherboard or to replace it with a refurbished one. They didn't have spare motherboards and told me it was their policy not to send this kind of spare parts.

In the end they adviced to contact a service center in Germany. They made no problems about it and did what I asked: sending me a brand new motherboard. I was pleased that the set includes new vents.

The 8890 is a rather terrible beast to take apart but I managed to change the motherboards, took me two hours...

    Everuthing works fine!
