So check this out I just received the P180hm/np8180 and the thing is a sexy beast specs are in the sig. I have the dual 6990m crossfires setup. Now when i play a game on the laptop monitor no problems crossfire mode but when i hook up the dvi cable and switch to my monitor(has a 1920x1200 res) and try to play ANY game at all i have a issue where the screen is constantly moving like a slideshow bad flickering you can play the game but its quite horrible. Its a vertical slideshow and makes everything appear almost twice. this is only through the dvi cable. IF i disable crossfire the monitor has no problems so it seems crossfire seems to be the issue anyone else run into a problem like this i updated to the latest files i can get my hands on for the cards and both cards seem to be working because they work on the laptop monitor with no issues . This only happens when i connect my monitor to the laptop i would disable the laptop monitor and play on the external one but that doesn't help ive tried switching the resolution and i get the same problem I can't tell if its the laptop or the drivers
Its with any game whats so ever wow/swtor/Guild wars, using one card with the external monitor seems to work and the problem disappears . Using the external monitor for normal use(ex browsing online/watching vids/youtube its fine with no problems. Any idea on how to fix this issue or how to check maybe i have a bad cable or could it be the ati drivers? want to play on my external monitor with crossfire set up but disabling it just to play a game kinda kills the reason to have it in the first place.
The laptop on its own works great and the temps does not pass 80C without a laptop cooler which i think is amazing but once i use the external monitor and enable crossfire and play a game it happens. So am i stuck using one card just to play with the external monitor
thank you for reading little frustrated with this![]()
