    Hey guys,

So I bought my Sager NP9170 from LPC-Digital recently, and after about 5-6 days of use (3-4 hours a day), I noticed that a pixel near the center of the screen stayed at a bright green color.

I restarted the computer, cycled the background image, and nothing happened. Finally, I applied a VERY light pressure using a cloth and it went away for a couple of days before returning again.

Has anyone encountered this on their Sager/Clevo laptop?
    How common are stuck/dead pixels?
I'm very afraid that the stuck pixel will be permanent down the raod.
What can I do about this? Any suggestions?

ps. I contacted the LPC-Digital support. They said the because I didn't purchase the Dead pixel insurance, I can't get a replacement unless there are 5 or more dead/stuck pixels.

That sounds pretty standard. If you didn't buy the "No Dead Pixel" insurance, the only thing left is to see if you can "fix" it yourself. There are some tips online about trying to "fix" a stuck pixel. See if those do any good.

I think I might have seen a guide or two here on the site.

I have had a stuck pixel exactly like yours on my desktop monitor for the last 3 years. When I see it, I apply some pressure and it goes away for a few days. When it comes back, I apply pressure again and it goes away again for another few days. I've been repeating this process for the whole 3 years and it still works.

At least it's not a dead pixel. That you can't do anything about. Consider yourself somewhat lucky :p

I have an intermittent stuck pixel, also full green, in the middle of the lower third. I rub it with a cloth when I see it and it goes away for a few weeks. I've probably had to "fix" it 10 times in the past 7 months. Definitely not something I would RMA for, considering how great the screen is 99.9999% of the time.
